Monika Bar, LL.B, LL.M

Monika is a contract law clerk with Green Economy Law Professional Corporation, and PhD candidate at McMaster a in Hamilton, Ontario, where her research focuses on the nature of mental health, including the effects of psychedelic experiences on mental disorders.

She practiced as a barrister for several years in the UK before striking out to see more of the world. She spent a few months on a fellowship with a Palestinian rights NGO in Israel, helped refugees navigate the Greek asylum process in Athens, and taught law for two years in the Seychelles.

In her spare time, Monika likes to read and watch Swedish TV. She also enjoys hiking: having completed both the Inca Trail in Peru and the Camino de Santiago in Spain, she is currently planning to walk the Kungsleden in Sweden.
